MEALS

Hiking Costa Brava comes with all the convenience an urban area can offer. Dinner is on your own, but every location either has a restaurant in walking distance or in your accommodation. Dinner normally costs between 20€ and 30€ per person, but can be more expensive if you order starters and alcohol.

Dining options in Costa Brava will typically consist of fruits, veggies, pastries, pasta, meats, and cheeses. Given its seaside location, seafood will be the freshest and widest variety on the menu. Costa Brava offers you the flexibility to dine at your hotel or explore nearby restaurants. You'll find a wide selection of cuisines, and you'll be able to better control for price and personal preference.

For lunch, there are a few places that you can stop in the middle of the hike, but the most convenient option is to buy something from a grocery store.

Important: If you have dietary restrictions or food allergies, you should check in with the front desk at your hotel to make sure that they can meet your dietary needs. We include any dietary restrictions when we make your initial booking, but it is always best to double check directly with your accommodation.

WATER

Water is available from towns and accommodation along the trek. Most people choose to fill up before they start the day's hike with 2 or 3 liters of water. Be sure to fill up at your accommodation each morning before you begin your hike.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The accommodations along the Costa Brava route are exceptionally comfortable, with onsite breakfast and often a restaurant for lunch and dinner at the hotel. Some hotels also offer amenities such as bars, spas, and pools. Many of our partner hotels are situated perfectly for stunning seaside views.

Phone service: Phone connection is fairly consistent along this route, as you are hiking in more urban locations.

MONEY

Spain uses the euro (€) as their currency. Before your trip, check the current exchange rates. We typically use XE.com.

Most restaurants and hotels accept credit cards, though taxis may require cash payment. We recommend keeping an emergency cash reserve of approximately 100€ for such instances. While some places accept American Express, having a Mastercard, Visa, or cash as backup is best practice. ATMs are readily available in most of the towns so you will be able to prepare before embarking on your hike.
